In response to disturbance caused by visitors viewing seals from the northern bank, the Trust worked with NatureScot, VisitScotland, Aberdeenshire Council and others to create sustainable viewing facilities on the southern shore.

The first phase included a new car park for 76 cars and the second built a 370 metre all abilities boardwalk and low level viewing platform plus a new high level viewpoint.  The project has been very successful in greatly reducing disturbance while providing enhanced visitor facilities, including all abilities access, to the low level viewpoint.

The result protects wildlife while making this special place easier and more enjoyable for people to visit.
